Matlab Expo 2025

Here you can find further examples of the Mechlab poster at the Matlab Expo 2025 (October 21 in Munich).

Third-semester students are conducting a speed comparison experiment. The data recorded in the vehicle must be synchronized with the external light barrier. This is achieved using a GNSS timestamp in the independent measurements. In 2024, synchronization at the start of the measurement between the control center (external speed measurement with light barriers) and the vehicle (GNSS, acceleration, yaw rate) was still carried out via a voice connection. This ensured that both measurements had started successfully. Here is the link to the experiment instructions (created with publish() from a Matlab script):

– Use in research –

For the daily operational approval of autonomous vehicles according to the German AFGBV standard, various tests are planned at the HTWD test facility. After leaving the garage area, the vehicle drives onto the test field. Initial measurements are taken with defined target objects (e.g., traffic signs). In the area of the light barriers, the comparison is carried out as in the practical test. In a second round, assistance systems can then be tested in active use (in our case, using a child dummy). Further planned tests include axle damping and reference braking. In this case, a cooperation exists with FSD Fahrzeugsystemdaten GmbH.
